Announcing Silverstripe CMS Recipe 6.1.0-beta1

The Silverstripe CMS Squad is pleased to announce that CMS 6.1.0-beta1 is now available and ready to install. This also marks the feature freeze for the Silverstripe CMS 6.1 release. No new features will be added to the 6.1.0 release from this point. Bug fixes are allowed.

The 6.1.0-beta1 release is not stable and likely contains bugs. The purpose of this release is to help the Silverstripe CMS Squad and the Silverstripe community identify and fix bugs prior to the stable release.

Review the Silverstripe CMS 6.1.0-beta1 changelog to find out what is new.

Visit the Silverstripe CMS release documentation to understand this process in detail.

The stable 6.1.0 release is scheduled for October 2025.

Does the fact that the password strength feedback (https://docs.silverstripe.org/en/6/changelogs/beta/6.1.0-beta1/#password-strength-feedback) “will not work in your front-end forms out of the box“ make this a breaking change?

all good, all it does if the js is not available is add an empty diff as a hook for the js. sorry.
