Question:

I’m new to SilverStripe and more of a designer than a developer. A client would like to add a large (1000 row) directory to their site and my techy is telling me that’s a fair bit of work unless there’s a directory plugin. Can anyone advise please?

Hard to say without knowing more details but unless your techy is inputting the data himself manually, having 1000 records shouldn’t be much harder than having 10. Once you set up the templates and models the number of items shouldn’t matter much.

If you can make it a CSV, it shouldn’t be a problem to import them all. But that’s all I can think of without more context.

Ok. Thank you both for the responses.
